The NavDroid StakeBox has been released for public peer review and the NavCoin Knowledge Base is now open source and community driven.

The fully featured ZeroCT implementation has been launched on the testnet and NavCoin has been listed on the Equicex Exchange & Debit Card platform.

Phase two of ZeroCT with Confidential Transactions is nearly ready to be deployed to the testnet, NavCoin’s Community Fund pays for carbon credits to offset the networks power consumption and the NavDroid is nearing completion.

NavCoin Co-Founder Craig MacGregor has utilised the NavCoin Community Fund to offset the NavCoin Networks estimated annual carbon footprint through New Zealand based carbon offset charity Ekos. Energy consumption is often drawn as a criticism of cryptocurrencies in the media with reports of Bitcoin using as much electricity as the entire country of Ireland. NavCoin instead uses Proof of Stake which is already an energy efficient form of blockchain validation. However, now the network’s carbon offset paid for NavCoin goes one step further and is now the worlds first carbon neutral cryptocurrency.

This week NavCoin’s Co-Founder Craig talked at the first Blockchain NZ event of the year, the first inaugural NavCoin Meetup in Auckland was held and the Spanish translation of the NavCoin website is live.

The NavCoin Community is a hive of activity this week with NEXT launching their lite wallet preview, the Bulletproofs Library being added to ZeroCT, three articles published about NavCoin and a BTC/NAV pair being added on NovaExchange.

The NavCoin hard fork scheduled for last weekend was a success, make sure you update to NavCoin Core 4.5.2 if you haven’t already done so. There’s also been progress made on all active projects throughout the NavCoin Community. Keep up to date with this week’s Community News!
